Position Overview
At MayTech the equity research associate will assist the portfolio managers to help make informed investment decisions. This work includes primary company research, data level research and analysis interpretation to understand and predict a company’s future. The associate should be able to clearly communicate investment ideas and industry research. They also must achieve and maintain an expert knowledge of MayTech’s investment strategy.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
● Write research reports that include company overview, competitive analysis, valuation, and other relevant information based on quantitative and fundamental factors
● Structure industry financial models
● Review the competitive scene, and analyze industry/company news
● Collect information such as SEC filings, attend investment conferences, meet company management, and speak with industry experts
● Prepare reports and presentations for portfolio managers, clients, consultants, and prospects to review our investment process, portfolio construction, individual positions, and performance.
Qualifications
Candidates of varying background and experience are being considered; however, preferred qualifications are as follows:
● Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
● Possesses critical, deep and independent thinking
● Solid time management skills to meet deadlines and perform tasks quickly and efficiently
● Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
● Self-motivated and willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities
● Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to draw conclusions from research and ability to report on findings
● Passion for investing
● Bachelor’s degree and prefer previous experience in finance industry
